Photography

Photography has represented an important method of creative expression for most of my life. Having been first taught to use a camera by my grandfather, Fred R. Fertik, I've been capturing unique moments for over 15 years.

My grandfather's guiding principle of photography was the search for the image within. His search for the unusual was an adventure of discovery... exploring remote lands, foreign cultures, and magnificent destinations. His photographs lived somewhere between realism and abstraction and it was his suggestion that there's more to the world around us than we might initially observe... and to look and imagine and not just see. His ultimate goal was to search beyond to not only record what is, but potentially what it can be. Inspired by this quest, I aim to expand upon this vision and continue his legacy by finding my own interpretations of the world around me.
